How The Recorder Works
The recorder is a member of the woodwind family of instruments- so called because at one time they were all made of wood and were blown to produce their sounds. Today the woodwind sections includes instruments such as the flute, which are metal.
- When the instrument is blown, the sound is created by the air striking the recorder lip as it emerges from the small air channel.
- The remaining column of air vibrates as it passes down the tube. All woodwind instruments have holes down one side of the tube and usually one on the opposite sides for the thumb.
- The instrument produces specific notes if one or more of the holes are blocked, when it is blown. The more holes that are covered, the deeper the note.
This is my recorder. Some of you have the same model.

HOW TO WRITE A LIMERICK
Hello how are you I’m Nick
Here to teach you a fun little trick
To have a good time
When writing a rhyme
Try writing your own limerick
There are limericks of all different kinds
So how do you write one that shines?
You’ll see that’s it’s cool
If you follow the rule:
A limerick is made of five lines.
1- so listen close to this song
2- lines one, two and five are all long.
3- And in poems of this sort
4- Make lines three and four short
5- And I promise you’ll never go wrong
1- you need to be sure and contrive
2- to rhyme lines one, two and five
3- then do it once more
4- with lines three and four
5- and your limerick surely will thrive!
So let this pointers take hold
And if you’ll write as you were told
At the rainbow’s end
You’ll find there my friend
Your own limerick pot of gold
