Last Sunday 17th March, people celebrated Saint Patrick's day in many places all around the world.
We would like to celebrate it at El Turó school too, with all our pupils in year 5 and 6.
These are some easy rhymes to learn and have a funnier party!!
LEPRECHAUN, LEPRECHAUN (Action Rhyme)
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
Reach up high.
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
Touch the sky.
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
Turn around.
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
Touch the ground.
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
Show your shoe.
Leprechaun, leprechaun,
That will do.
LEPRECHAUN
A leprechaun is small and green
He hides where he cannot be seen.
But if you catch one on this day,
He must give his gold away.
ST.PATRICK'S DAY (try to do some actions too)
St. Patrick's Day is here, you see..
We'll pick some shamrocks, one two, three
We'll count the leaves and look them over,
And maybe find a four-leafed clover!
I'll sew green buttons on my vest,
Green for St.Patrick is the best.
I'll wear a green hat, very high,
And dance a jig....at list I'll try!

Frankenstein
Yesterday we went to the theatre and enjoyed a wonderful play titled "Frankenstein". Before and after the show we have worked several activities about the play and we have learnt new things and gone over old topics like: the present tense (including 3rd person and imperativ), vocabulary (parts of the body, basic adjectives and adverbs, narrative structures) and functional language (asking questions, giving explanations and instructions).
Plot:
Frankenstein is a doctor of medicine. He has a laboratory where, helped
by his assistant, he gives classes of anatomy. He also has a book ‘How
to make a monster’. All he needs are a few pieces of body, a brain and a
lot of energy. But where is he going to get these things from?

HOW TO WRITE A LIMERICK
Hello how are you I’m Nick
Here to teach you a fun little trick
To have a good time
When writing a rhyme
Try writing your own limerick
There are limericks of all different kinds
So how do you write one that shines?
You’ll see that’s it’s cool
If you follow the rule:
A limerick is made of five lines.
1- so listen close to this song
2- lines one, two and five are all long.
3- And in poems of this sort
4- Make lines three and four short
5- And I promise you’ll never go wrong
1- you need to be sure and contrive
2- to rhyme lines one, two and five
3- then do it once more
4- with lines three and four
5- and your limerick surely will thrive!
So let this pointers take hold
And if you’ll write as you were told
At the rainbow’s end
You’ll find there my friend
Your own limerick pot of gold

The Night Of Halloween
These short stories have been written by pupils in year 6. It's been a hard work for them, but we're really proud about the results. It's their first English written work and, although there are many mistakes in it, we all know how difficult can be to think and write in a foreign language. So.. well done guys!! Congratulations!!
